Location: On the river
Ownership: The River Palace, later renamed Sowolsky’s River Palace, is a riverboat casino initially owned by the mob and managed by Nick Dinatos. After Nick is murdered and his father, mob boss Carl, pulls out of the casino, Harry buys the place, turning it into a dining and dancing establishment. Although Harry is absent from Corinth from early 1988 until 1989, he retains ownership of the River Palace. It’s unclear what becomes of the business after Harry’s offscreen death in 1990, as Kate inherits his gambling license but not the River Palace itself.
Employees: During her relationship with Nick in 1986/87, Trisha works at the River Palace as a hostess, as does Ava, joining Nick’s longtime employees Jenny Baylor and Gus, his righthand man and henchman. During Harry’s ownership, Rick is brought in as manager, running the business during Harry’s absence from Corinth.
Sets: The sets for the River Palace include the casino floor with bars at either end, an office with video monitors, an apartment (which also has a bar and monitors showing the casino floor), and an exterior deck.
