The loft is located in a building in a part of town where many of the surrounding buildings are derelict and being torn down. Casey moves into the loft after moving out of 35 Maple, turning the downstairs bathroom into a darkroom. Even after moving out, he continues to use the loft as a studio for a time. Steffi briefly lives in the loft with Casey and Janie breaks in and stays there during the period where it’s vacant.
After buying a house with Ally, Casey becomes unable to continue covering the cost of the loft and Tess takes it over, making it her own home.
